SLOTZY combines the strategy of Yahtzee® with the fun of playing the slots! Players draw cards and try to make scoring combinations, such as: Three of a Kind, Four of a Kind, Straight, Full House, and Five of a Kind - a SLOTZY! Discard cards you don't want and try your luck with new ones. After the scores are tallied, the player with the highest Grand Total wins! SLOTZY is a fun game for all ages, and ideal for a family game night.
These casino-quality cards feature classic slot symbols: cherries, oranges, plums, bells, bars, and Sevens. The game also includes Double Wild Cards, which can be used to represent ANY symbol, and each one doubles the score of any 5-card combination!
Includes 1 bridge-sized deck of Bandit™Slot Machine cards and SLOTZY instructions. For 2 or more players. Ages 8 to adult.
How to Play
A game consists of twelve rounds. In each round, players take turns drawing cards in order to make the best possible scoring combination. After each turn, a player must score one of the twelve categories on their scorecard. Once a category has been scored, it cannot be used again.
A player begins a turn by shuffling the deck and drawing five cards. After the first draw, a player can stop and score it, or they can discard any or all of the cards and draw new ones to replace them. After the second draw, a player can stop and score it, or they can discard any or all of the cards again and draw new ones to replace them. After the third draw, a player must score one of their unused categories. If the cards will not fit in any unused category (or if a player chooses not to score it), they must place a zero in one of their unused categories. The deck is then passed to the next player and their turn begins. The game ends once each player has scored all twelve categories.
Scoring
The SLOTZY scorecard contains twelve scoring categories, which are divided between the Upper and Lower Sections.
In the Upper Section, the score for each category (Cherries, Oranges, Plums, Bells, Bars, and Sevens) is found by adding only the value of symbols matching that category. For example, if you were to draw:
You could score it as 6 points for Oranges, or 5 points for Bells, or
4 points for Cherries. If you score a total of at least 100 points in the Upper Section, you get a bonus of 50 points!
In the Lower Section, points are scored by forming poker-like hands. The scoring categories include:
THREE OF A KIND
A Three of a Kind is at least three cards showing the same symbol.
The score is found by adding the value of all cards.
FOUR OF A KIND
A Four of a Kind is at least four cards showing the same symbol.
The score is found by adding the value of all cards.
FULL HOUSE
A Full House is any Three of a Kind and any Pair. Any Full House
is worth 30 points.
STRAIGHTS
A Straight is any sequence of five cards. Any Straight is worth 40
points.
SLOTZY
A SLOTZY is any Five of a Kind. The first SLOTZY for each player is
worth 50 points.
CHANCE
A Chance is any combination of five cards. The score is found by
adding the value of all cards.
SLOTZY BONUS
If you already scored 50 points for a SLOTZY (Five of a Kind), you will
get a bonus of 100 points for each additional SLOTZY! If you already scored a zero in the SLOTZY category, you are not entitled to any
SLOTZY Bonuses.
DOUBLE WILD CARDS - OPTIONAL
The Double Wild Cards can be used to represent ANY symbol, and
each one doubles the score of any 5-card combination.
In the above example, if the Double Wild Cards represented Bars,
you could score it as 96 points for Bars (Upper Section), or 124 points
for a Four of a Kind.
Alternatively, if the Double Wild Cards represented Sevens, you could score it as 84 points for Sevens (Upper Section), or 120 points for a Full House, or 132 points for Chance!
How To Win
After the scores are tallied, the player with the highest Grand Total
is the winner!
